Calera senior earns scholarship

At the Calera Chamber Luncheon held May 12, Bailey Seabury received a $2,000 college scholarship from the Calera Chamber of Commerce. Bailey was treasurer of the National Honor Society, president of Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), a member of the Spanish Honor Society and a member of the comprehensive math team at Calera High School. Bailey was also captain of the drum line in the Calera Marching band, served as fine arts editor of the school yearbook and maintains a part-time job.

His parents Ted and Dee Seabury accompanied Bailey, who was recognized during the May Chamber luncheon.

The Calera Chamber will meet again on June 9. Speaker will be State Rep. Mike Hill. Hill, of Columbiana, represents District 41 in the state house. To make luncheon reservations or to join the Chamber, please call Lisa Thomaston at 668-3023. Luncheons held at the Calera Community Center.
