Funeral service for Peggy Dixon, age 82, of Shelby, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Bolton Chapel with the Rev. Tom Minor officiating. Visitation will be June 3, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dixon, who passed away Monday, June 1, 2009, at a local rehabilitation center, was born July 21, 1926 in California. She was a former member of Camp Branch Methodist Church and co-founder of South Shelby Baptist Church in Shelby.
She is survived by her husband of 63 yrs, Sam Dixon Jr.; children: Darlene Talton, Mary Hinds, Robert (Doris) Dixon, Warren (Patty) Dixon, Barbara (Chuck) Parker, Dale (Tracy) Dixon, Patricia (Bill) Abbott; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
