To the burglars who entered the back door of Chelsea Community Church last week and stole an estimated $15,000 worth of electronic equipment, Pastor Greg Davis has a message for them.

“We have forgiven whoever did it,” he said. “We hate what they did, but we love them and hopefully they’ll find God’s direction for their life.”

According to Davis, the burglary occurred between 8 p.m. May 27 and 8 a.m. May 28. Items stolen include electronic drums, projectors, bass guitars, microphone cords and a flat screen television. A police report was filed.

Since the burglars targeted the church’s electronic equipment, “we really had a makeshift service (Sunday) to get around what we’re doing,” Davis said.

Davis said the church is in the process of replenishing their loss, and again he hopes the burglars see the error in their ways.

The incident remains under investigation.
