William “Earl” Motes, age 65, of Pelham died Friday, June 26, 2009.
He was born November 18, 1943 in Shelby County to the late William Joseph and Flossie Motes of Pelham.
Mr. Motes was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Motes, and two sons, Ricky Motes and Rodney Motes.
Survivors include a son, Duane Motes; step-sons, Mark Ellison, Henry Ellison, and Chris Ellison; a daughter, Rhonda; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in the chapel of Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham with Pastor Ron Muir officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
