Gym offers FasTrak for women

Chris Crenshaw, with Body-Flex Gym, has been on Main Street in Montevallo for 18 years. The gym has always been open for men and women, but Crenshaw has recently remodeled and installed all new FasTrax machines to be used exclusively by women.

“Women are more determined and sincere about training,” said Crenshaw. “They’ll stick with the program longer.”

The new equipment is designed for an updated concept in training and weight loss; that of quicker more intense workouts. The new concept is a high-intensity, interval training that you complete in just 8 minutes.

“FasTrax Fitness has taken the latest research, exercises, and techniques and created an unprecedented training experience,” said Crenshaw. “We are able to design programs to optimize calorie burn both during the training and, more importantly, for the next 24-36 hours. This is where traditional workouts and aerobics fall way short. The new FasTrax workout takes only about 30 minutes.”

Most of the 30 women in the beginning group lost about 10-15 pounds in the first month. Christy Callahan was the exception.

“I’m so excited,” she said. “I lost 60 pound in just eight weeks and I feel great. I’m not quitting until I reach my goal.”

Joyce Velo has fibromyalgia and osteoporosis. She says the training helps to relieve her bone pain; she sleeps better, feels better and has more energy. Patti Champion has lost about 10 pound and she works out three days a week. She says this training provides a positive experience in addition to losing fat, gaining muscle and reducing stress. She enjoys the social time with friends who work out at the same time.

All of these women were happy and eager to tell about their new fitness adventure. They wanted to spread the word that the program is a fast, fun and satisfying path to weight loss, enhanced energy and general fitness.
