Anna Cost

Anna Delyn Cost, 93, of Jemison, died July 4, 2009. She was born July 2, 1916, in Calera, daughter of Walter Matthew Cost and Ethel Martin Cost. She was a Calera resident for many years. She was a retired clerk from the Shelby County Tax Assessor’s office.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Lorene Byrd, Dollie Peters and Leona Smith and by brother, J.T. Cost. Also preceding her in death is niece, Kay Downs and nephew, Walter Peters.
She is survived by nieces, Wanda Peters, Susan Glass, Janis Skinner, Elda Bragg, and Kathy Tatum; and by nephews, Jimmy Peters, Bill Peters, Talley Smith and Stephen Smith. She also leaves behind wonderful caregivers in Megan Kilgore, Ashley Davis, Sonja Smith and Johna Edwards.
Visitation will be held Monday July 6, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo. Graveside service will be held Tuesday July 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Salem Cemetery in Calera. Stephen Smith officiating.
