We wanted to thank you for putting a huge smile on our faces!

We are the former owners of the goat, Maddie Lane, that you recently ran a story on. Ever since giving her to Molly (and her owners), we’ve enjoyed being able to see her on our commutes. We were very sad to part with her, but knew that Molly needed her.

Maddie Lane had known the company of just one cow. They were the best of buddies, often playing together. When the steer was no longer around, we began looking for a good home for her. We weren’t sure how she’d take to her own kind, and felt that Molly’s situation was a perfect fit.

Thank you again for writing such a story, and letting others know about the special history and relationship that exists between this Shelby County odd couple.
