Getting back to business

While the kids gear up for back-to-school, it is likely that all of us need to focus on getting back to business.

Be it a cubicle or corner office, I suggest finding some fun office accessories to brighten up your 9 to 5 and perhaps help encourage you to actually get some work done.

I found a plethora of items to garnish my home-office while shopping at Wood Family Pharmacy on U.S. 31 in Pelham.

Yes, you can fill your prescription while buying for your office, grabbing a cup of coffee, picking up a birthday present, and getting some monogramming done.

Fun new writing accessories had arrived on my last visit, including a personalized pen holder for only $8.95.

Instead of searching in the depths of your drawers for an ink pen, this novel and charming piece can be added to your desktop for you or a client to use.

A turquoise Baekgaard faux leather journal is sure to show off your fashion flair. Wood’s inventive selection of “Page Up” paper holders are a key item for any data transfer that leaves you typing up a storm.

And what gal doesn’t need a little black book –– for professional purposes, of course.

A black mini address book is perfect for contacting business clients or helping you stay in touch with old friends for $8.95.

Other ideas found around town include personalized stationary at Amy’s Hallmark in Alabaster.

Get a pad of paper with your initials, your name or even a funny slogan to add flair to your daily memos.

Any local pharmacy’s photo area allows you to reinvent an everyday item such as the mouse pad, into daily reminder of what you’re working towards for just under $10. Customize yours with a picture of family, a tropical locale or your furry friends at home.
