Timmy Kitchens

Timmy Al Kitchens, age 59, of Montevallo passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
He was born April 17, 1950, in Pea Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murriel Ellene “Ted” K. Kitchens and Brady Herston Kitchens; a sister, Darlyne K. C. Brand.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce L. H. Kitchens; sisters, Kay (James) Lawley, Mona (David) Lamb and Nanette (Tim) Tingle; brothers-in-law, David L. Brand and Jimmy Hutchison; numerous nieces and nephews.
Timmy graduated from Jones Valley High School in 1968. In 1969, Timmy married Joyce, the love of his life.
He served in the Army from 1969 through 1972. He was stationed in Germany and served as a medic.
He came back home and worked at multiple jobs as a welder, mechanic, maintenance worker and manager.
At one point he and Joyce had their own company and could weld anything.
He loved fast cars and motorcycles. His Harley was his freedom on the road.
He loved his wife and all their critters. He was the best brother and friend to us all.
Visitation was held Aug. 2, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home, Midfield.
Graveside Services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 3, 2009, at the American Village Alabama National Cemetery. Willie Hatcher officiated. Valhalla Funeral Home directed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
