Express Oil raises money for Children’s Hospital

Express Oil is doing their part to help keep children healthy by donating money from every service done in September to Children’s Hospital.

During the company’s “Changing Oil, Changing Lives” campaign, it will donate $1 per oil change, maintenance, repair or purchase.

Clay Creveling, vice president of marketing, said this is the second year the company has contributed to Children’s Hospital. Last year, Express Oil raised $52,000 for Children’s Hospital.

“We wanted to do something to give back to a special cause, and we couldn’t think of anything better than Children’s Hospital,” he said. “So many people in Birmingham have been affected by Children’s Hospital.”

Creveling said his fundraising goal is to get back to last year’s amount and hopefully raise even more.

“We’d love to get to where we were last year. We’d like to get people aware of the campaign we’re doing and come to support the cause,” he said.

Dr. Raymond Watts, director of the children’s oncology department at Children’s Hospital, said in a press release Express Oil’s commitment is helping to raise awareness for the facility.

“The partnership will bring funding to Children’s Hospital, but it will also provide awareness that 95 percent of all children in Alabama diagnosed with cancer and other blood disorders are treated at Children’s Hospital,” Watts said.

Express Oil has eight locations in Shelby County, all of which are participating in the cause. For more information, visit Expressoil.com.
