William G. Smith, “Bill”, 77, of Westover left his beloved family to join our heavenly Father early Sunday Morning on Sept. 20, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents Glason and Pauline Smith.
Bill was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Westover where he lovingly and faithfully served as Deacon since 1972. He was retired from Birmingham Transit Authority.
Those left behind to cherish his memory includes his wife of 55 blessed years, Linda Fay Gardner Smith; daughter, Rhonda (Rick) Gillard; son, Rusty Smith; grandchildren, Alisha and Matt Gillard, Tiffany Smith; great grandchildren, Jaxon Lively, Payton Shepherd and many friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be Sept. 22, 2009 from 6- 8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sept. 23, 2009 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Westover. Interment will be at Union Methodist Church Cemetery.
