Kenneth Ray Bates Sr., 71, of Columbiana, passed away Sept. 27, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Sons Childersburg Chapel with Rev. Charlie Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens.
He was a member of New Fellowship Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Ray Bates, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bates of Columbiana; five children, Kendall Bates of Wilsonville, Cathy Bates of Oneonta, Carol Tomlin and husband Al of Inverness, Melissia Foiles of Pelham, and Tim Bates and wife Kelly of Sylacauga; one brother; three sisters; 14 grandchildren; 16-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
