Betty Fleming Thompson, 76, of Vincent, passed away Oct. 25, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel with Rev. William Rayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Vincent Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 5-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel.
Betty owned Fred’s This, That & The Other in Childersburg.
She was a lovely, outgoing person loved by all who knew her. She put others’ needs before her own.
Her greatest accomplishments in life were her dear husband Fred, her children, grandchildren and great-grands.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Gowers Fleming; father, James M. Fleming; brother, Marvin Fleming; and niece, Pat Fleming Wood.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Harold Thompson, Sr.; son, Fred H. Thompson, Jr. (Lisa); daughters, Sharon Thompson Abner (Keith) and Linda Thompson Duke (Roger); grandchildren, Jeremy Duke (Shoni), Cricket Abner Downey (Jason), Wendy Duke Wells (Wesley), Kristi Abner Burnette and fiancé Todd Black, Cheryl Duke Morgna (Ben), and Cale Thompson; great-grandchildren, Brittany Duke, Ansley McCall Wells, Trey Morgan, Tucker Downey, Brylee Burnette, and Brodee Burnette; brother, Millard Fleming (June); sister-in-law, Grace Fleming; special friends, Lilly Caddell and Cassandra McKinney; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
