Saving in Shelby County and the surrounding areas just got a little easier, thanks to Junior League of Birmingham.

This organization of more than 1,000 active female volunteers has worked hard to get some of the best stores in our area involved in their Shop, Save and Share card.

This discount card entitles its cardholders to 20 percent off at the featured retailers from Oct. 22–Nov. 1. Lucky for us all, savings can also be found at retailers like home improvement, health care, fitness, electronics, restaurants and more.

Nearby retailers include Edgar’s Bakery, Best Buy, Palm Beach Tan, Party City, Wine Styles and Country Fair Gifts, just to name a few.

Although Junior League of Birmingham is facing a loss in funding like many non–profits, the group has seen an increase in the number of stores participating in Shop, Save and Share card.

“We have over 500 retailers participating this year,” said Junior League President Kristin Ritter. “And we’re pretty proud of that.”

The card retails for $40, with all of the proceeds going towards the Junior League of Birmingham’s 31 projects impacting the community in the areas of health, financial stability, safety and crisis intervention and education.

The card can be purchased from self–selected retail partners during the event or directly from the Junior League of Birmingham prior to the event or on their Web site.
