Thomas L. Francavilla, M.D., a neurosurgeon with The Brain & Spine Center PC, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a Regional Director of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He will help govern an organization representing North American neurosurgeons.

Francavilla is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine.

He cares for all types of neurosurgical problems, and has particular expertise in minimally-invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery and brain tumors. The Brain & Spine Center has an office at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
