The Montevallo Main Street Players will be spreading the Christmas spirit Dec. 13 while collecting donations for area families in need.

The organization will be hosting its fourth Sounds of the Season event at 3 p.m. at Montevallo High School’s Performing Arts Center.

During the event, the Main Street Players’ Elaine Hughes will interpret a selection from “The Christmas Letters,” the Montevallo High School Moonlight Players will perform “The Night Before Christmas,” the Montevallo Community Chorale will sing holiday songs and the Montevallo Community Band will play seasonal music.

The organization is asking event attendees to donate a toy for children ages 1-12, or to make a cash donation to benefit Shelby Emergency Assistance’s Project Christmas.
