Several Shelby County residents named top students at Montevallo

Nearly 20 Shelby County students were recently named the top senior students in several majors at the University of Montevallo.

The university honored the students during the university’s Elite Night Nov. 30, during which the college names the top seniors in each of the school’s majors.

Calera resident Tara Bradley was named as the social work senior elite, and Stephen Franks, also of Calera, was named the top biology student.

The College of Education named Columbiana resident Adam Britt its top dietetics student, and the College of Business named Columbiana resident Bobby Sheffield the top management information systems major.

The College of Education honored Helena resident Darlene Skinner and Sterrett resident Jessica Jackson as the college’s top elementary education majors.

From Montevallo, Kouri Allen was named the top history student, Crystal Brantley was named senior elite among social science students, Mallorie Farrell was named senior elite in early childhood education, Victoria Frazier was named the top psychology student, Leslie Hinson and Christina Linden were named elites in the foreign language program and Kelly Langele was honored as the top accounting student.

Pelham residents Stephanie Jolly, Jordan Jones and Terri Wright were honored as the top marketing student, top sociology student and top interior design student, respectively.
