Angels appear in Montevallo

Eight beautiful angels descended on Montevallo Dec. 5.

They came as special guests of the ladies of the First Baptist Church. The angels arrived in a handsome white limousine befitting their role. They were all dressed in fancy glittery costumes of gold and white.

Their common feature was a joyful smile that could not be disguised.

These angels are called the B-Team Angels. They are a volunteer group of interdenominational Christian women who serve God in many ways.

While in Montevallo, they visited with those enjoying a wonderful holiday luncheon and then presented an exciting program of music, comedy and inspiration.

More than 100 women of the church and their friends attended the event at MFBC.

Tables were set and attractively decorated in holiday themes by members of the sponsoring group.

“The luncheons began in the spring of this year when my husband, Dr. Terry Sutton, and I came to serve this church,” said event director Kay Sutton. “After much prayer, I felt led to begin our Ladies Luncheons as an in-reach and encouragement to the ladies of our church and surrounding areas. It is being used as a tool to show the ladies that they are loved and that we care about them.”

The program the visitors presented included the explanation as written in their brochure: “Why are we called B-Team Angels? There are A-Team Angels whom God summons to intervene in our lives from time to time. We are not those angels. We are women who feel called by God to minister with the joy and love of Jesus Christ.”

The nationally acclaimed B-Team Angels perform at nursing homes, senior citizen centers, churches, schools, hospitals, etc. with puppet shows, funny skits, musical performances and inspirational speakers.

Paula Joslin of Arab founded the ministry 15 years ago. It has since grown to include five spin-off groups in other cities and states.
