Santa Claus will take a break from his Christmas preparations at the North Pole Dec. 24 to visit children and residents throughout Alabaster.

Santa will begin his journey through the city at about 1 p.m., and will make his way through Alabaster’s neighborhoods before returning home to deliver presents to children around the world.

City crews have placed Santa stop signs throughout the city, and are encouraging residents to gather near the signs before Santa is scheduled to be in their area.

Because travel times may vary, Alabaster officials are asking residents to be on the lookout for St. Nicholas 30 minutes before or after his scheduled arrival time.
