A 53-year-old Montevallo man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 65 S in Pelham at approximately 6:38 a.m. Monday.

Kenneth Gallups was pronounced dead at the scene following a two-vehicle accident involving his 1999 Dodge Ram and a 2002 Chevy Suburban driven by a 40-year-old Maylene man.

The accident snarled traffic for several hours Monday morning and cause of the wreck is still under investigation. No one else was injured in the accident.
