Evelyn Raymond, age 66, of Shelby fought a gallant fight and was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009. She was dearly loved by all.
She retired from Hilltop Barber Shop after 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Crowe and Beatrice Crowe Phillips; step-daughter, Glynis Raymond; and brother, Doyle Crowe.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Russell Lee Raymond; daughters, Carolyn K. (Danny) Gossett, Nancy Jo Howard; stepson, Russell L. (Lisa) Raymond; grandchildren, Tommy ‘Joe’ Ashworth, Jr., Robert ‘Kelly’ (Monica) Ashworth, Lauren Frances McLaughlin, Lindsey Mae McLaughlin; step-grandchildren, Brittany Leigh Raymond, Brody Lee Raymond, Brian Russell Raymond, Presley Perry; sister, Martha Daniel; niece, Amy (John) Whaley; nephew, John (Leslie) Estes; three great-nieces, and two great-nephews.
Funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Shelby with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Old Shelby Cemetery. The Rev. James Thomas officiated.
