W. Gray Jones
Collinsville

W. Gray Jones, 87, of Collinsville, and formerly of Alabaster, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010.
Born and raised in the Shelby County area, Gray was known by many through his work at Scottrock Lime plant in Alabaster. He went on to work at Indian Springs South Trust Bank where he was a branch manager. Gray served under General Patton at a first sergeant in a tank company. He was a long time member of Helena United Methodist Church. Gray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ruby Jones; his brothers, J.O. Jones and Myron Jones; and sister, Evelyn Riley.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jones of Collinsville; children, Marie Northcutt (Barry) of Fort Payne, Sidney Bounds (Paula) of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special friend Aubrey Arnett; and sister-in-law Nina Jones.
There will be a visitation Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with a chapel service following at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
Internment will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
