The Vincent High School girls’ basketball team fell to Shades Mountain Christian 25-20 in the semifinals of the Class 2A, Area 9 tournament Feb. 4 at Thorsby High School.

Kiara Cohill led the Yellow Jackets (6-15) with 11 points.

Montevallo 53, LAMP 51

The Bulldogs advanced to the Class 3A, Area 5 tournament championship game Feb. 6 at 2 p.m., where they will meet host Montgomery Academy.

Amber Cardwell led Montevallo (21-7) with 27 points. Shanise Hudson added 11 points.

Calera 56, Bibb County 31

The Eagles (4-17) will face host Holt in the championship game of the Class 4A, Area 7 tournament Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. after defeating Bibb County for the first time this season in three meetings. The victory also sealed a berth in the sub-regional round of the Class 4A playoffs.

“We played our best game of the year with balanced scoring and defense,” said Calera coach James Knowles.

A’Kia Harris led Calera with 16 points. Jocelyn Davis added 14 points. Jennifer Hobby chipped in nine points and Kendra Holmes finished with six points.

Hoover 73, Spain Park 23

Jessica Freeman led the Jaguars (7-24) with eight points in the semifinals of the Class 6A, Area 10 tournament at Hoover High School.
