Omadee Galloway

Omadee Estelle Cook Galloway, age 92, went home to be with her Lord, Feb. 3, 2010.
She was born Aug. 1, 1917, near Montevallo and resided there 89 years. For the last two years she has been a resident of Clanton’s Hatley Nursing Home in the Alzheimer’s Unit.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Abby Large Cook and father, William Harrison Cook; her brothers, Vrigil Cook (Ethel), Ira Cook (Earlene), Ormand Cook (Freddie) and her husband, Robert Burns Galloway.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wilton. She retired from the University of Montevallo Bookstore after 27 years.
She was the loving mother of two daughters, Bobbie Dee Galloway Winslett (Ray) and Patti Galloway Hughes (Don). She left four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Church of Wilton with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tom Hammett officiating. Burial will follow at Montevallo Cemetery.
The family would like in lieu of flowers, donations be made either to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Mission program at Bible Baptist Church of Wilton, P.O. Box 219, Wilton, Al 35187.
The family would also like to thank her caregivers at Hatley A wing.
