Helen Dorma Brand, of Alabaster, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010.
She was better known by her family and friends as “Jiggs.”
Mrs. Brand was born in Alabama on Jan. 29, 1935, the daughter to Mr. Cecil Howard Edmondson and Mrs. Flora Owens Edmondson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. She was an employee of the Little Waxie Water Authority. Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at the funeral home Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Mike Byars officiating her services. Her burial followed in Nabors Cemetery in Alabaster.
Her two brothers, Dr. James Edmonson and Kelly D. Coleman, III, preceded Mrs. Brand in death.
She is survived by her husband, Billy M. Brand; sons, Alan (Marie), Scott and Todd; six grandchildren, Nikki, Shane, Kevin, Joseph, Kali and Kaci; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Cecil Jean Robinson; a sister-in-law, Jo Ella Kirkland; two aunts and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home.
