Indian Springs pounds Parkway Christian for second baseball victory

The Indian Springs School baseball team improved to 2-0 with a 16-0 win Feb. 17 over Parkway Christian.

Indian Springs racked up 13 hits in the victory.

Stephen Himic finished 4-for-4 with a double and a triple as he drove in four runs and scored three runs. David Busby singled and doubled to knock in two runs while scoring twice.

Daniel Woodall earned the win on the mound as he pitched three scoreless innings. Woodall allowed one hit, walked one and struck out four batters. Karl Hofammann pitched two shutout innings in relief.

Spain Park 3-10, Pell City 0-0

Marks Abernathy and Charlie McPherson each pitched a shutout as the Jaguars swept a doubleheader with Pell City.

Abernathy pitched a six-hit shutout with one walk and seven strikeouts as Spain Park defeated Pell City 3-0 in the first game of the doubleheader.

Colton Freeman, Carter White and Jake Lee each had a hit and a RBI for Spain Park.

Charlie McPherson gave up only two hits in a five-inning shutout in the second game. McPherson struck out three batters without issuing a walk.

Carter White finished 3-for-4 with a RBI and scored two runs as the Jaguars won the second game 10-0.

Aaron Haag and Mikey White each had two hits and a RBI. Jacob Hoadley had a double and two RBI and Austin Veteto finished with a single and two RBI.
