David Abernathy, age, 64, of Calera, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ola B. Abernathy; sister, Jean Massey.
David’s surviving relatives are wife, Sherri Abernathy; sons, David Bryan Abernathy (Joan) and Eric Lee Abernathy (Wendy); daughters, Stephanie Martin, Audra Davis, Mary Buckelew and Autumn Abernathy; brothers James Abernathy and Roger Abernathy (Penny); sisters, Faye Bunn, Alice Holsomback (Bobby), Frances Hafer (Terry) and Sue Hutchison (Ray); twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several stepchildren and grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at the Fountain of Life Church of God (Formerly Calera Church of God) from 6-8 p.m. for friends. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the church at 11 a.m. He will lie-in-state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera. The Rev. Bud Alexander will officiate.
