Hoover police recently arrested a Greystone resident for allowing underage drinking at her house, according to Hoover Police Capt. Jim Coker.

Police arrested Wanda Defane Toolabi, 47, March 1 for violating the Alabama Open House Party law.

Toolabi hosted a party at her house Feb. 19, at which responding officers saw 44 minors, some as young as 15. More than half of the minors were drinking beer. Hard liquor was also present at the scene, according to a press release.

Students from Spain Park High School, Hoover High School, Oak Mountain High School, Briarwood Christian High School and Mountain Brook High School were at the party. Thirty cars were parked in the street nearby.

Hoover police also responded to another open house party Feb. 27. Twenty minors were found drinking at the residence with no adults present. The case is still under investigation.
