The Alabaster Sports and Entertainment Foundation’s first fundraiser, Warrior Jam 2010, is scheduled for Saturday, March 27 at Thompson High School Stadium.

The festival will include the musical talent of Birmingham-based country band, Deputy 5, and the M-80s, a Birmingham band specializing in the music from the 1980s.

Emcees for the event include NBC 13’s Andrea Lindenberg and 102.5 The Bull’s Dollar Bill Lawson.

Deputy 5 members include singer/guitarist Breck Carroll, guitarist/vocalist Tommy O’Barr, bassist Don Breland and drummer John Simpson. Breland served as bandleader and bassist for the Oak Ridge Boys for more than 16 years and Breck Carroll is a graduate of Thompson High School.

Deputy 5 has an extensive list of songs that range anywhere from the latest hits to the classic country of the Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash era.

Alabaster resident and Linda Nolen Learning Center student Joey Paulin will join Deputy 5 on stage to play drums during the song “The Fireman.”

The M-80’s are a group consisting of lead vocalist Danielle Hardaman, bass guitarist Greg McNair, drummer Mark Troncale, guitarist/vocalist Michael Weidenbach and guitarist/vocalist Mike Tucker.

Other local talent scheduled to perform includes the band Paula Marie and Lil’ Vegas. The band consists of Paula Marie on vocals, Archie Vann on guitar/vocals, Randy Isbell on bass/vocals, Chris Click on guitar/fiddle/mandolin/harp/vocals and Kenny Shaw on drums/sound. They cover songs by such famed musicians as Hank Williams Jr., Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Miranda Lambert and more.

The Nick Williams Band will also bring their smooth sounds to Warrior Jam. The band features Williams on guitar/vocals, Carson Sumpter on drums/vocals, Mark Hermecz on guitar and Jeremy Allinder on bass.

Coming from Trussville, the Gardner Moseley Band focuses their talents on alternative, rock and Christian music. The band consists of Gardner Moseley on vocals/guitars, Cory Swinford on bass guitar and Seth Staton on drums.

Alabaster’s own Sanchez Tannehill will bring his gospel sounds to the Warrior Jam stage at 5 p.m. Tannehill is a graduate of Thompson High School and has a new CD coming out soon.

The gates for Warrior Jam 2010 will open at 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Jim n’ Nicks, Kona Ice and Lil’ Caesars will provide food.

Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.

There will be no alcohol or coolers allowed inside the gate.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the gate or online at ASEF.biz. Children 5 and under will be admitted for free.
