Gary Rolee Holcombe, age 76, of Columbiana, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010. Gary was a bi-vocational minister for over fifty years. His pastorates include: Wildwood Chapel in Columbiana; Full Gospel Tabernacle in Talladega Springs; Pea Ridge Assembly of God in Montevallo; North Bibb Assembly of God in Woodstock; Oak Mountain Assembly in Pelham.
In fulfillment of his calling to preach, Gary presented the message of Jesus in countless sermons, stories and songs during his long and honorable ministry. His love for family, life and nature was a daily testimony to his conviction that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above and should be experienced with joyous gratitude.
Funeral services will be at Charter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, with burial in Pinelawn Cemetery. Darian Lane Holcombe officiating the services. Visitation was held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home.
His parents, Hermus Holcombe and Edith Auburn Holcombe Morgan, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Joyce Lenn Holcombe; sons, Darrel Terah Holcombe (Lesia) and Darian Lane Holcombe (Darlene); daughter, Tina Holcombe Fernandez (Casey); brothers, Duane Holcombe (Joan), Dalwyn Holcombe (Melissa), Daymon Holcombe (Susan), and Dale Holcombe (Donna); sisters, Yvonne Holcombe Davis (Chandler), Shawn Holcombe Boroughs (Kevin), and Sharon Morgan Key (John); grandchildren, Amanda Sweden Holcombe Wortham (Ben), Nicholas London Holcombe, Abby Savannah Holcombe, Roxana Delaire Fernandez, Lana Rowe Fernandez, Nigel Casal Fernandez, Allison Marie Holcombe, Kelvin Shae Holcombe and Charles Wesley Holcombe.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home.
