Taylor Matthews, a senior at Pelham High School, recently won awards for his artwork from the Alabama Regional Scholastic Art Awards. He submitted individual pieces of artwork and a portfolio that was judged by a panel of high school art teachers. This year, there were more than 1,100 entries submitted. The awards include honorable mention, a silver key and a gold key. Matthews was awarded one honorable mention for an individual piece of photography, two silver keys for digital media pieces and a silver key for his photography portfolio.
