Howard C. Dickerson, born Feb. 23, 1916, went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2010, at the age of 94. His wife of 53 years, Mildred, passed away in 1991.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Sue Harding; son-in-law, Charles Harding; son, Paul Dickerson; daughter-in-law Margie; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three sisters, Estelle Walton, Norma Callahan and Eva Grace Mooney.
James 2:18 says: “Show me thy faith without works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.” Ephesians 2:10 says: “It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others.”
Howard was a “giver” always helping those in need as his heart led him. He has gone to his reward; but we will miss him his jokes and his stales of years past.
The family requests that instead of flowers, a donation be made in his memory to First Baptist Church of Alabaster, 903 3rd Avenue, NW, Alabaster 35007.
Visitation will be Monday, April 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 6 at 10 a.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
