Barb’s Cakes featured on TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off

The place to be on Monday, April 12 at 7 p.m. is the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church of Alabaster for the viewing party of Barbara Sullivan’s appearance on TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off. Sullivan and her family are active members of the church.

Sullivan of Barb’s Cakes will be on hand along with husband Cliff and son Nic to see for the first time the one-hour show starting at 8 p.m. Nineteen hours of filming were reduced to one hour, and no one yet knows how Sullivan’s green team did in the contest. The big surprise will be seen firsthand by all.

Sullivan’s theme for her cake was “Unsung Heroes Honoring Two Los Angeles Firefighters.” For help and accuracy, Sullivan met with Alabaster’s Fire Fighters who are all invited as special guests for the party.

Sullivan’s fellow churchwomen and close friends, Debbie Wilson and Anne Belue, have organized the party with the help of Sullivan’s Sunday School Class. B&A Warehouse will provide the appetizers, Vince Grey of Flower Stems has donated the flowers, Tracy Murphy of Southern Events and Rentals has donated the linens and Stacy Collins will photograph the event that will be featured on the Shelby County Reporter’s Spotted web site.

The party would not be complete without some of Sullivan’s homemade cakes to taste: her delicious chocolate cake and scrumptious white cake with almond flavoring and butter cream frosting will tempt taste buds.

The party is free and open to all. The church is located at 903 3rd Avenue in Alabaster near the Alabaster Library and Fire Station.

Come cheer Sullivan and find out the best kept secret in Shelby County: who won the Ultimate Cake Off.
