Pelham Police have arrested two men in connection with a home invasion April 7.

Pelham Police received a call at approximately 2:35 p.m. regarding a burglary in process in the Emerald Lake subdivision off Shelby County 35.

Before officers arrived, two suspects fled the area in a white SUV and were later spotted by a Pelham Police officer merging onto Interstate 65 S.

The two suspects refused to pull over for the officer before finally coming to a stop on Shelby County 25 in the Summer Hill area.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene, while the other was caught in Birmingham April 8.

Police have charged Tyler Earnest Wilson, 26 of Hoover, and Brian Jonathan Lavett, 31 of Birmingham, with second-degree burglary, fleeing to elude law enforcement and third-degree criminal mischief. Wilson is being held on a $102,000 bond, while Lavett is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Both suspects are being held in the Shelby County Jail.

Multiple agencies assisted in the chase and apprehension of the suspects, including Alabaster, Calera and Columbiana Police, Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies and Alabama State Troopers.

The suspects are believed to have been involved in multiple burglaries in both Shelby and Jefferson counties.

The investigation is on going.
