The Thompson High School girls’ soccer team pounded Tuscaloosa County 9-1 in a Class 6A, Section 6 match in high school soccer action April 13.

Kacey Chance led the Warriors (16-4-2, 8-1 in Class 6A, Section 6) with four goals.

Tatum Harless scored two goals. Danielle Morris, Molly Cline and Alli Watts scored one goal each.

Morris recorded one save.

Oak Mountain 1, Mountain Brook 0

Morgan Motes scored the only goal in the game off an assist from Kat Rodriguez to lead the Eagles (13-5-1) to a win over Mountain Brook.

Oak Mountain goalkeepers Richelle Byrd and Jill Hester combined for eight saves.

The Eagles improved to 13-5-1 overall.

Pelham 7, Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa 0

Ida Jakobsen led the Panthers (18-2, 8-0 in Class 6A, Section 6) with three goals.

Brittany Boles, Brittany Wright and Melissa Cooley also scored a goal.

Ashley Gardner, Dakota DeLuca and Cooley finished with one assist each.

Pelham goalkeeper Selina Delgadillo recorded seven saves.

BOYS

Briarwood Christian 1, Spain Park 0

David Coggin scored the only goal in the game to lead the Lions (11-3-2) past the Jaguars.

Jake Law assisted on Coggin’s goal.

Briarwood goalkeeper Wilson Whorton and Spain Park goalkeeper Spencer Jack recorded five saves each.

The Jaguars fell to 5-10-2 overall.

Pelham 10, Hillcrest 0

David Canales, Cyprin Kanneh and Gio Cornona scored two goals each to lead the Panthers, who improved to 16-3-1 overall and finished a perfect 12-0 in Class 6A, Section 6.

Saul Arceo, Gifford Usher, Trey Saville and Cameron Foss scored a goal each. Arceo finished with a team-leading three assists.

Hunter Payant, Saville and Foss combined for the shutout.

Thompson 5, Tuscaloosa County 1

Jarred McKinney broke the single-season scoring record at Thompson with two goals against Tuscaloosa County.

McKinney has scored 19 goals this season, which eclipsed Seth Hanson’s previous mark of 17 goals.

Jacob Ramsey and Jacob Marasckin scored one goal each.

Chris Littrell, McKinney and Marasckin recorded an assist each for the Warriors, who improved to 13-6-2 overall and 7-2 in Class 6A, Section 6.

Thompson goalkeeper Marlon Galvez finished with eight saves.
