Jefferson State Business Management Instructor Mildred Lanier was recently named as a 2010 Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama at the Harbert Center on March 4.

The award honors women who have made a significant impact upon their communities, have a personal record of leadership, have achieved recognition and success within their profession, and are an exemplary role model for Girl Scouts.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be selected,” said Lanier. “Service is one of the greatest gifts I can give and I count it a privilege to do so within the community and as an educator.”
