Carol Chomicz

Carol Ann Chomicz, age 66, of Maylene, passed away suddenly April 16, 2010. She was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Buckhannon, W.Va. to Martin and Madeline Warner.
Carol was the youngest of three. She married Jim in Buckhannon, W.Va. Aug. 12, 1967, and they had three children. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and graduated in 1966 with a degree in Business Education. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a resident of Maylene for the past 11 years and was the Business teacher at Calera High School for the last five years. Carol was a joyful, faithful member of the Montevallo Presbyterian Church.
Carol was a loving wife and mother who epitomized home. She loved her family, her church, quilting, reading and cooking. She always had a kind word to share with others. Her deep faith and positive outlook were inspiring to all who knew her.
She will be remembered by her loving husband of 43 years, Jim; their children, Laura Franck (Chris) of Maylene, Dana Cox (John) of Carrollton, Ga., and Douglas Chomicz of Vestavia. She is also survived by grandson, Alex Franck; brother, Martin Warner; mother-in-law, Anne Chomicz; sister-in-law Nancy Chomicz.
She was preceded in death by both parents, infant sister Phyllis and grandson John Warner Franck.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Rockco Chapel Montevallo from 5:30-8 p.m. for friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Montevallo Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Wendy Hare and the Rev. Mark Davenport.
