The Montevallo High School softball team edged Shelby County 3-2 in high school softball action April 26.

Kaylan Davis picked up the win as she gave up only one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.

Savannah Upton led the Bulldogs (17-9) at the plate as she finished 1-for-2 with a triple and scored a run.

Brittani Morris led the Wildcats (18-9) at the plate as she went 2-for-3.

Kaitlyn Paschall allowed two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks in a complete game as she took the loss.

Thompson 5, Spain Park 4 (8 innings)

Ashleigh Short hit the game-winning home run in the eighth inning.

Ashley Savage and Marly Terrell led the Warriors at the plate with two hits each.

Kim Wilson, Staci Roberson, Rachel Rigney and Kelsey Johnson finished with one hit each.

Johnson drove in two runs for the Warriors. Terrell and Rigney drove in one run each.

Channing Haynes took the loss for Spain Park.

Oak Mountain 7, Alabama Christian Academy 3

Regan Wade picked up the win after giving up only one earned run on eight hits with two strikeouts and two walks in a complete game.

Olivia Mire, Julie Moss, Caroline Seitz and Leah Reeve recorded two hits each for the Eagles, who improved to 29-18. Hannah Griffin and Wade had one hit each.

Wade led Oak Mountain with three RBIs. Griffin drove in two runs and Reeve drove in one run. Mire and Reeve scored two runs each.

Chelsea 13, Brookwood 1

Morgan Pence earned the win after allowing only one earned run on seven hits with a strikeout in a complete game.

Tori Hollis led the Hornets (28-12) at the plate with three hits and two runs scored.

Carley Torretta finished with two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Alex Osborn finished 1-for-3, drove in three runs and scored twice.

Allie Luster went 1-for-3 and drove in two runs and scored once.

Vestavia Hills 2, Pelham 0

Caitlyn Sapp led the Panthers with two hits.

Heather McGuirk, Mary Morgan Dramer, Emily Sharman, Jessie Breland and Lindsey Pyle had one hit each.

Melanie Tittle took the loss after giving up two earned runs on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts in five innings.
