The defending Class 6A champion Spain Park High School golf team captured a Class 6A section tournament title April 27 at O’Colony Golf Course in Tuscaloosa.

Spain Park carded a team total of 299 strokes, which allowed the Jaguars to take a nine-stroke victory over second place Vestavia Hills.

Conner Pratt led the Jaguars with an 1-over par 73. Michael Johnson and Clark Johnson each finished with a 2-over par 74.

Zach Goozee of Oak Mountain qualified for the sub-state tournament with his 3-over par 75.

The Spain Park team also qualified for a sub-state tournament May 4.
