A poem by Montevallo High School’s Alex Peete was selected over numerous entries to be included in this year’s Shelby County Literary Magazine. His poem is titled “Empty Existence” and is a memorial to the people of Haiti who suffered the recent earthquake. A pictorial collage by R.J. Scaife will accompany the poem in the magazine.
