Rotary club awards scholarships

The Alabaster-Pelham Rotary recently awarded $4,000 in scholarships to five Thompson High School students and four Pelham High School students.

The students delivered speeches incorporating the points of Rotary’s four-way test: truthfulness, fairness to all concerned, building goodwill and beneficence to all concerned.

From Thompson, Taylor Gallups received a $1,000 scholarship and plans on attending the University of Mobile. Sacoria Patrick received a $600 scholarship and plans to attend the University of South Alabama. Aly Parker received a $300 scholarship and plans to attend the University of Alabama. Blade Stevens and Sharyn DeMoss each received $50 and they plan to attend the University of Alabama and UAB respectively.

From Pelham, Clarence Okoh received a $1,000 scholarship, Stacey Brendemuhl received a $600 scholarship, Courtney Bell received a $300 scholarship and Ashley Seabrooke received a $50 scholarship.
