A Celebration of the Life of Hellen Lilly “Momma Hellen” Posey, age 94, of Wilsonville, will be Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, Wilsonville, where the Rev. Troy Holley is Pastor. The Rev. Holley officiating and the Rev. Bernard Lilly delivering the eulogy. Interment was in Wilsonville Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Posey passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William “Dump” Posey; son, Lenn Lilly; 12 siblings; daughter-in-law, Fannie Posey and son-in-law, Henry Posey.
Mrs. Posey was a member of Scott’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was Church Mother, served on the Usher Board, the Kitchen Committee and was lead captain in many fundraisers. Her passion was cooking.
Survivors are a son, David Kelow of Wilsonville; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Fannie Lilly of Columbiana.
Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary, Talladega, directed the services.
