The University of Montevallo men’s soccer coach Ryan Pratt has accepted an assistant coaching position at Division I Virginia Commonwealth University, said Montevallo Athletic Director Jim Herlihy.

Montevallo will seek a full-time replacement, according to Herlihy, opening a national search to begin immediately.

Pratt led the Falcon program for nine seasons, compiling a record of 99-61-12. Pratt, who was also named Gulf South Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 2005, was named the third coach in the history of the Montevallo men’s soccer program in the fall of 2001. In his nine seasons at Montevallo, Pratt has developed 21 first team all-conference members, 24 second team members, three GSC Players of the Year, 21 NSCAA All-Region team members, four NSCAA All-Americans, 14 All-Academic team members and one Major League Soccer (MLS) draft pick.

The Falcons are also currently searching for a head baseball coach and a head women’s basketball coach.
