James Cook

James Lowell Cook Sr., of Alabaster, joined the Church Triumphant on May 27, 2010, after 80 years of health and happiness followed by a brief illness. He began his career in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from BE&K as an instrument designer in 1993. He was an active member of Kingwood Church and is remembered as a faithful husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cheerful giver and selfless veteran.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Sue Mullis Cook; his only son, James Lowell Cook Jr.; his beloved daughter-in-law, Leah Beth Elias Cook and his three grandchildren, Jacob Lowell Cook, Joshua Elias Cook and Anna Bethany Cook.
Visitation was held at Charter Funeral Home May 29, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. A chapel service to celebrate his life and eternal rest was held May 30 at 2 p.m. A military funeral honored his service to his country May 31 at 1:15 p.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera.
