The U.S. Poetry Company will be seeking to strengthen local students’ playwriting skills during a weeklong camp at Helena Intermediate School.

The company will hold its Summer Drama Camp for fourth- and fifth-graders June 21-25 at the school. The camp will last from 2-4 p.m. each day.

During the camp, Poetry Company representatives will help the students write and produce a play, which will be presented at 4:30 p.m. June 25.

Price for the weeklong camp is $25, and event organizers are urging anyone interested in participating to sign up early to ensure a spot.

“Students who participate in the camp will receive personalized instruction which will send them into the next school year with pride in their abilities to adapt and perform,” read a Poetry Company press release. “All students will learn new skills which will prepare them for success in any endeavor.”
