Willard Russell Battle, 84, a resident of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at a local hospital. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Shelby Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, June 25, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home-Shelby Memory Gardens.
Mr. Battle was retired from the Air Force and a veteran of WW II.
Mr. Battle is survived by his wife, Sidney M. Battle; children, Russell G. (Gail) Battle, Susan (Craig) Branaman, Joel Battle; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth (Frank) Dunnaway; brothers, John (Ann) Battle, Ralph Battle, Ed (Nocal) Battle and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
