A U.S. grand jury recently handed down an indictment on a Daphne man after he was arrested June 22 and charged with sexually enticing a 15-year-old Pelham girl.

The grand jury indicted 67-year-old Larry Douglas McPherson, of 25901 Overton Drive in Daphne, on charges of coercion and enticement of a minor and attempting to produce child pornography.

During a June 24 hearing, the victim’s mother told authorities McPherson gave her daughter a video camera in early June and asked the minor to make videos of herself. The suspect also told the girl to not tell anyone about the camera.

Because the victim is a minor, authorities have not released her name.

If McPherson is convicted of the two charges, he could face life in prison. Following the hearing, authorities released McPherson and placed him under house arrest until his trial begins.
