The National Weather Service office in Calera issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Shelby County at about 2:05 p.m.

The warning includes parts of Vincent, Inverness, Westover, Chelsea and North Shelby, and is set to expire at 3 p.m.

The storm is capable of producing quarter-size hail and winds higher than 60 miles per hour, according to the weather service.
