Members of the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force recently helped federal law enforcement officials arrest 14 suspects on drug-related offenses.

Drug Enforcement Task Force members participated in a drug roundup June 24 with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, which netted arrests for everything from fleeing law enforcement to distribution of a controlled substance.

Task Force members arrested 31-year-old Isaiah Bivens on a fleeing law enforcement charge, 20-year-old Eric Cromartie on an unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge and 34-year-old Charlie Edwards Jr. on an unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge.

Kenneth Kirkland, 48, was also arrested on an unlawful distribution of a controlled substance charge; Joshua Lucas, whose age was not released, was arrested on charges of second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and 35-year-old Marion Hale was arrested on unlawful possession of a controlled substance charge.

Terence Hale, 19, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance; Amery Robinson, 57, was arrested on an unlawful distribution of a controlled substance charge and 35-year-old Terry Robinson was arrested on four counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Destiny Fearon, 22, was arrested on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; 65-year-old Mary Williams was arrested on a probation revocation and 19-year-old Hakeem Mitchell was arrested on three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Taylor Cummings, 19, was arrested on charges of second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and 29-year-old Randall Chastain was arrested on a probation revocation.

As of June 29, all suspects were being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds ranging from $500 to $150,000.

The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force is composed of officers from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabaster, Pelham, Harpersville and Helena police departments, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and the Alabama National Guard Counter Drug Program. The department is funded by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
