Shaylin Gehring is the recipient of a four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Collegiate Honors Scholarship valued up to $12,000. She is the daughter of Paul and Penny Gehring of Alabaster.

Gehring is a senior at Thompson High School where she’s a member of the Mu Alpha Theta, softball team and volleyball team. At UAB, she will major in mechanical engineering.
